Audio recordings
Click on the title below to hear how the music should sound.
Suggestions:
1. First, just listen to the song.
2. Listen again, this time, following along with your part. Note any new notes or rhythms. Mark your music for class and be ready with a question.
3. Listen again, try to finger the notes -- in rhythm -- as you follow along. Can't do this from the start? No problem. Break the song down into a few measures, or even one measure, until you feel more confident with the notation, rhythm, and fingerings. Work at a slower tempo than the recording until you are ready to play at the recorded tempo.
4. Practice your part without the music. Work slowly and do not accept mistakes. Practice until you are ready.
5. After some time, play along with the recording. Can you include the dynamics (forte, piano, etc.)? The articulations (staccato, tenuto, accents)? The phrasing? Keep working until you can say yes to all of these questions.
